Trouble Connecting Zeppelin to Spark

bin/zeppelin-daemon.sh status shows Zeppelin is running [ OK ], however i can't connect Zeppelin to Spark.

it shows disconnected in the upper right corner.

    This is usually caused by Zeppelin saving config values into either the conf/interpreter.json file or the /notebook files themselves.

    This happened to me with the Spark MASTER config for host (ie. local[*]) and port. Zeppelin saved this value to interpreter.json. These values override what you put in configuration.xsl, etc.

    The workaround is to edit the interpreter.json file directly, recreate the Spark interpreter, or completely re-install Zeppelin and add the Spark config params to the zeppelin-env.sh file as follows:

    export MASTER=local[*]
    ...
